FINAL RESOLUTION! With Slide Show!!

I am so happy to have this painting finished!  I kept procrastinating working on the painting because I didn't like it but couldn't seem to move on until I finished it one way or another.  I decided to order the new Inktense blocks.  They looked so intriguing and I thought they might be great for travel sketching.  I had a gift certificate with Amazon and they were available through that website, so I treated myself!  After playing with them a little, I decided to use them to finish up this painting.  I also used white gesso in various dilutions  and I am pleased with the result.  I have created a slide show of the morphing of this painting.  I have included a few detail images .   On my monitor, the colors look fairly close to the actual painting, especially the detail images.

Now, onto the next painting!

I am so glad you finished this piece, Myrna! It is fabulous and this young boy reminds me of one of my brothers when he was little. Love the stars on the shirt and the final result. I was awed by all the color in his blond hair. Beautiful work!

Thank you, Sue, Dee, Sadami and Autumn for you taking the time to comment. and being so supportive of my efforts. My jar of gesso was in the wings if this didn't work out. Fortunately, it turned out and I learned a great deal along the way!

It was wonderful to see the process, thinking, adjustments, correction... and time it took for completion. Many people think what we do comes "easy". Your hard work paid off!

I love what Michelangelo once said " If people knew how hard I worked to get my mastery. it wouldn't seem so wonderful at all."

Happy Painting!

Nice take on your famous composition! I remember this kid - how can one forget him? :-)

Thanks, Meera!
Brenda, what a great quote. Thanks for sharing it.

Nava, nice to know you are still there! I finally did something with these photos. Perhaps you will be my next victim!

Yeah, still alive - even though it's been a while since I created something not for the sake of a grade (not fun at all!).

Oh, so you have enough photographic evidence to victimize me?... well, I hope none of them is with my finger up my nose ;-)
This kid was bored out of his mind - it was quite funny.

Wonderful, it gives the feeling of a film strip or flicker book - makes me feel restless too! It was helpful to watch your progress through the "unresolved" stage. Thank you for sharing all your splendid work.

A fabulous finish, Myrna! I really like what you've done and it's an amusing and interesting painting, too - another winner, I'm sure!

Great process Myrna. Richard Diebenkorn always said if a painting came too easily, he knew there was something wrong with it. His charcoal drawings certainly show his character. And that is what i admire about you too. You just keep pushing and pushing.
Looks to me like you tamed the restless young nose-picker quite nicely. Love the slideshow layer over layer. Glad to be posting again myself so I see your blog more often. It's been months!

Hi Jo, Thanks for the comment. I learned a long time ago that I had to focus in and give up lots of things that interested me in order to improve.

Hi Sonia. I often take a sequence of photos and then can't pick just one image to tell the story.

Hi Rhonda, Thanks for the kind comments and your continue support.
