PRELIMINARY SKETCHES!

My husband is turning into my dream subject as he grows his hair into a pony tail.  Here are some sketches I worked on yesterday.  I will work them into a composition one of these days.

I love the way you do hands. they are so expressive and solid with so few marks.

And he looks to be a handsome guy too, Myrna! I especially like the profile shot!

SO cool! The "Variations" will be endless!

Your portraits as so fun to look at--these are no different. I love the way those pencils must be flying around. Very autographic. My compliments!

Great model and always great work. I like men in ponytails, too.

Hi Fearless Threader! Hands are as interesting and varied as faces. Combining them in an image tells a great story.

Hi Autumn, Neither of us looks much like the persons we were when we got married 48 years ago but my husband transforms from one handsome stage to the next.

Hi Dee! I think I may have another series here!

Hi William, thanks for the comment. All drawing is autographic (great word) and is why I am adamant about having my students draw freehand and not trace or project.

Hi Hallie, I will be sure and pass on your comment to my husband. It has taken a long time to get his hair to this stage.
