I spent the day on Tuesday covering over bad paintings with different collage material. I took them with me to the life drawing session Tuesday night. I waited for the 20 minute poses and this was the result. I am happy with a few of them. Some I like the paper better before I put the image on top! One I may work on a little longer to see if I can salvage it. I guess I can keep covering over until I wind up with something I like or, as Gerald Brommer says, "the paper is too heavy to pick up!"
Last night I went to a different drawing session with clothed models. They were not professional models but did a good job and the variety was nice. You can check out the results on my life drawing blog "Drawn from limb to limb".
Today I tried a few different ideas for collage. I hope to paint on top of these sheets tomorrow.

absolutely neat!!! Love your 'recycling' attitude :)
Oooh, the gift that keeps on giving ... Not only the repurposing of the paper, but YOU, givng us all your wonderfully creative ideas. I f can use a small percent of your inspiring ideas, I will become a better artist. Where does all of your creativilty come from?
Hi Meera, I hope you try some of these ideas yourself!
Hi Dee. Thanks for the question about where creativity comes from. I think once you set your mind in a direction, ideas bubble up based on previous explorations. I saw you do that in the workshop. You took an idea I had and added your own explorations of "what if"! There is always the next "what if"
I love the backgrounds!
I like all of these, Myrna, and love how you repurpose paintings that you don't like into something else!
I love these!
this is Brilliant!!!!

I quite like the interaction of collage and figure studies and have been making some myself. Do you have one BIG stamp you use on the backgrounds or are you printing numerous times with a smaller one (I am liking the geometric look). Are you using letter size tyvek in your work or do you have a source for bigger paper. Keep on creating!
That's absolutely brilliant. I keep my bad paintings to use as collage material, I tear them up and reapply. Now I'll consider using them as the new base!
Thanks!
Thanks Kay, Rhonda, Abeer and Lucy. Your supportive comments make my day!
Paula, I make lots and lots of stamps so not just one large stamp. I also purchased large sheets of tyvek in quantity. Here is a link for you to purchase smaller amounts.

Hi Judy, I hope you enjoy collage over old paintings. Lots of uses for the "dogs"!
