SUMMER DESTINATION!

I received this wonderful postcard image from Jenna Erickson, Director of Programs for the Madeline Island School of the Arts.  I am very excited to be invited to teach a workshop at their unique location.  This is a fairly new art venue and it looks spectacular! This is will be a wonderful summer retreat.  If you are looking for a special place to relax and learn this summer, check it out.  I hope to meet you there.

Oh, my gosh, Myrna! You will love it. I've never been to the school of the arts there, but I've been to Bayfield and Madeline Island. They are gorgeous and, of course, Lake Superior is also gorgeous. You're going to have a blast.

I so wanted to do this workshop but the cost was just too prohibitive for me. It looks a gorgeous setting, Myrna! I know you'll have a wonderful time!

Yes, it's a lovely place but Lake Superior is very cold. So bring warm clothing just in case. I recommend layering. I'd sure love to visit.

Hi Myrna, I'm teaching at Madeline Island again in August of 2012. In fact, I gave them your name because you're one of the best instructors I've ever had. You'll love it there. Very peaceful with no limit to how long the students can paint at night, if they wish. Great housing right there! A painter's paradise. Say, I have a blog now. Check it out. karenknutson.blogspot.com

Hi Candy, Thanks for the information. From the photos, this place looks very special!

Bohemian, I wish you could join us. Maybe next time.

Sherry, it would be exciting to have you in the workshop. Hope it works out.

Hi Peggy! Yes, they did a great job with the postcard. That is one of my favorite Frenchman paintings. The design work is right up your alley.

Hi Jane, yes I plan to attend the drawing session.

Thank you, Joyful, for the tip. Wonderful that it will be cool. Getting whimpy about lots of heat these days.

Karen, wonderful to hear from you! Thanks for the recommendation!!! Wish we were there the same week....that would be fun. I have signed on to follow your blog. Keep posting!
