OMG!!! TYVEK VIDEO FINALLY UPLOADED!!!!

I am so excited!  I finally was able to upload my first iPad2 video to YouTube.  I had to break it down into segments, so here is the first part.  For some reason it may not play on my blog but click on watch on YouTube and you can see it.

Here is the second part which shows the supplies you will need.

This segment shows my method of painting the envelope.  The last segment, Part 4, shows how to fold,  cut and tape the envelope to create a wallet!!

If you make your own, be sure and send me a photo so I can share it on my blog.

I watched the entire video and am all fired up to run out and buy a box of Tyvek envelopes! Congrats on getting your video uploaded. Your explanation and manner are both very appealing and make it seem that anyone could make the wallet.

Hi Janice, So glad you enjoyed the video! It is easy once you get the hang of it and a great project. I have been using my wallet for a year and it is very strong. Give it a go!

Love the demonstration! --You are pretty tech savvy to film and upload the video from iPad :) I am not surprised since you have all those other videos, slideshows and digital drawings on your blogs! I have painted on tyvek envelopes after seeing your paintings and now hope to do wallets or other things with it too! thank you so very much!

Oh, I did love watching this Myrna! I can't wait to give it a go one of these days (when I have the cash to buy the supplies)! This came out beautifully!

Thank you, Myrna. I made paper envelopes last year, but your Tyvek wallets are much cooler. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow.

Hi Meera, Hope you have fun making a wallet. I had to transfer the video to my computer then go to YouTube and get it from the desktop. Lots of steps but at least I was able to get it where others can see it.

Hi Bo (don't know your real name!) You can get an envelope from FedX or the post office and cover up their logos. Free envelope so give it a try!

Hi Sherry, thanks for the feedback regarding clear instructions. Send me your finished project in a photo!

Hi Jane. Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy sharing as much as I love having others share ideas with me.

Hi Myrna, I thoroughly enjoyed your creative and well done videos. I'm impressed that you did them with the iPad. Did you have to download an app for it? I felt inspired to share your link on FB. Fun!

Looks like a winner. I'm visiting daughter now but will try it when I get home, very good turtorial. Thanks for persevering with the video learning curve.

Hi Peggy, Thanks for the promotion! The iPad2 has a video camera built in, so no need to download an app. BUT you do need an editing app and iMovie is designed for the iPad. After you edit the movie you should be able to upload it to YouTube or Vimeo or Facebook and perhaps Twitter (I don't use that) It didn't take. YouTube will only take videos 15 minutes or shorter so you have to divide it up anyway.

Hi Joyful. I was determined because making little art videos was one of the main reasons I wanted the iPad2.

Congratulations on posting the video--the wallet looks like a fun project. Does the acrylic paint wear off? I have not painted on Tyvek yet.

You seemed very comfortable demonstrating on camera--a definite plus.

Hi Hallie, No, the paint does not wear away! I have been carrying mine for about a year and it is looking a little shop worn so I will treat myself to a new wallet but the paper is amazingly strong and durable.

Hi Myrna...I'm ex AutumnLeaves on blogspot, Sherry in real life. Had to start a new blog, hence the name change. Anyway, I've been thinking about these Tyvek wallets all night. How do they stand up to being pulled in and out of pockets or if they get wet? Does the paint come off? I'm just thinking of how long they'll last as I'm seriously considering making a couple of these!

Hi Sherry! The Tyvek paper is waterproof. It is used in construction to create a moisture barrier in the building. It is very touch and cannot be torn (If you make a cut into the edge and tug very very hard you can tear the paper ) the paint stays on the paper. The edges start to look "shop worn" after awhile but I have been using mine for about a year and could keep using it indefinitely. Hope this helps.

I made a few wallets after seeing your first article on making them. I use mine to carry my business cards. I love the feel of the tyvek as it ages, like a very fine sheer leather. Now I may have to make some more!

Hi Paula, That is a wonderful description of the feel of Tyvek. Glad you are enjoying the wallets.
