WONDERFUL WORKSHOP AT WRIGHT'S FRAMING AND ART GALLERY !

DEMO BROOKINGS WORKSHOP DAY 1

On the first day of the Variations workshop we deal with the element of SHAPE.  We also roll the dice to see what color chord we must use.  I drew analagous  colors with red.  Playing with shape can be lots of fun.  Distortion is often involved.  Here is my demo using an old unsuccessful painting with gesso stamping as my sub strait.

Thanks, Carrie. Hands are a great shape to exaggerate!

Looks awesome, Myrna. Is he holding a paint roller?

I love the idea of "rolling the dice" to challenge oneself to a particular color chord: wouldn't THIS force me to get out of my rut!
Can you tell us more?

Hi Sherry, He is holding a large paint brush. The fun thing about this image is how one can easily change what he is holding changing the "story"!

Hi Katherine, My idea is based on combining random elements to make new connections. Lots of ways to do this but rolling the dice is fun.
