It...The term deconstructed tyvek is one I made up! It describes my process of tearing up a painting I did on Tyvek which wasn't to my liking. You have to make a cut in the paper to be able to tear it. Once you start tearing you will see the paper is made of at least 3 layers which tear apart unevenly. I glue it back down on another failed painting, usually on watercolor paper but it could be another surface. I put the painted side of the Tyvek face down so that color shows but not the image. I like to paint a new watercolor painting on this reconstructed surface, so i use YES glue because it accepts watercolor when it is dry. Matte Medium will glue the Tyvek down but be too plastic to accept watercolor. If you intend to paint a new painting on this surface with acrylic paints, then matte medium is fine to use. You can buy sheets of tyvek from www.allweatherblueprints.com in quantities of 25 sheets at a time. Be sure and get the larger size. If you just want to tear up Tyvek, you can get free envelopes at the post office but there is some printing on them. I hope this helps.Myrna Wacknovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13086356475188254683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3598489002518349548.post-17758564604838908842015-11-18T12:11:16.592-08:002015-11-18T12:11:16.592-08:00Where can I read about deconstructed Tyvek.
